In May, the first Michelin Guide Mexico Awards ceremony took place. The president of Canirac in Quintana Roo and Cancun, Julio Villarreal Zapata, announced that the organization will train its members so that more restaurants receive a star or recommendation in the second edition of the Michelin Guide, particularly in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, and Isla Mujeres.
